I caught a cold. My head is fuzzy so fewer text tonight.
This is one part Rimmel Midnight Blue, five parts OPI Simply Smashing, and one part Art Deco Gold Glitter. A variation on yesterday's franken. Except greener, and the addition of Gold Glitter makes this sparkly, in real life anyway.
Flash:
That's all for today. Happy polishing, everyone!

Green Olive Gold? Franken
Whoops, editing to include the correct recipe. Maybe I shouldn't post under the influence of cold medicine...
Another franken. This one was incredibly hard to take accurate pictures of. It's an olive-green that flashes gold but also looks grassy green at certain angles. This is two parts OPI Simply Smashing, one part OPI Rally Pretty Pink, and one part Sinful Colors Black on Black (highly pigmented black creme). All under the lamp.
I turned on the vivid option on my camera to capture the golden flash. Pardon the weirdly tinted skin.
Macro:
Flecky!
I liked this franken but I don't consider it a complete success. My objective was to make Simply Smashing into something that only needed two coats. This still took three.

My Favorite Green
I confess, I am not particularly fussed about holos. I think they're nice but I don't really understand the craze that's currently sweeping the nail world. That doesn't explain why I bought Nubar Reclaim, except this is a color I would wear even if it wasn't holo, tricks are just a bonus. This is my go to polish when I want to feel better. It also doesn't give me lobster hands in real life, I don't know what happened here.
This is two coats plus topcoat, under the lamp. Sorry, we haven't had sunshine in several weeks. Still, very holo, yes?
I need more Nubar in my life. Now I'm off to work on a paper that's due tonight. I'm not supposed to be blogging (or playing Plants vs Zombies) at all. Shh, don't rat me out!
Happy polishing, everyone. :)

Not Like the Movies, Stamped
Apparently we had an earthquake and now we're getting a hurricane chaser. Not like the movies indeed... Originally I wasn't going to buy this because really, how many bottles of purple green duochromes do I need? But then I saw it on Paillette's blog and I succumbed. Grr! Actually, I'm really glad I got this. I heard there's a dud version of this floating around and luckily this doesn't seem to be it. And the duochrome should keep me entertained for a couple days if the power goes out. Ha!
Three coats OPI Not Like the Movies stamped with OPI Ogre-the-Top Blue. A really good blue polish for stamping, if you were looking for one.
Aww, the winds and rain are starting to pick up and the mailman just pulled up. It's days like these where I feel bad for them. Well, staying dry doesn't seem to be an option, but I hope everyone on the east coast stays safe!
